Apres WII Skiing with Hot Spiced Wine
I have the perfect way to rid the body of extra pounds put on during the holidays! The WII! I received one for Christmas,(in all honesty I gave one to my husband because I knew I would love it!) I figured it is winter and let’s face it who wants to go outside in this freezing New England weather? There was a time when I loved the winter, would go skiing every possible day that I could, enjoy the cold, have a couple hot spiced wines after a long day of skiing, and then move on to a nice restaurant for an enjoyable dinner fit for a queen. Unfortunately, after so many years of brutality on my aging bod, I am destined to be a WII athlete. I can hardly believe that this little tiny machine can aggravate me to no end and egg me on to keep repeating exercises and sports til I beat my score or the little wiis that mock me. So now I have it all figured out. I ordered WII Skiing, a couple bottles of wine, and now my intent is to ski to my heart’s content and then enjoy a couple glasses of hot spiced wine, (for my après ski), and then move on to a delicious dinner. Boy, has time moved on. Oh yeah, did I start this article as a way to get rid of the added weight? So I’ll only have one glass of the wine.
Hot Spiced Wine
4 cups red wine
2 sticks cinnamon
8 whole cloves
lemon rind
2-3 tbsps. sugar
Use moderately cheap wine. Put wine, spices, and lemon rind in a large saucepot, cover and heat over medium low heat for about 1 hour. The longer it is heated the spicier the flavor will be. Add sugar if needed. Enjoy!
