Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is the first holiday of the season. It is a day of remembering and being thankful for what we have-and we all have lots to be thankful for. I was feeling a little sad this morning with most of my family being miles away. Then I saw a TV segment on GMA about a woman whose son lost his life in Iraq, and how she received his last letter 2 days after his death. In his belongings was a diary of his days spent in Iraq. The story continued how she reached out to all the other mothers of her son’s comrades that were killed in Iraq and the positive outcomes that arose out of a terrible situation. I don’t mean to bring sadness into any one’s holiday; instead I mean to send a little message on thankfulness. This morning my thankfulness for all I have became apparent: wonderful family members, great friends, and all the comforts needed for a life that anyone could only hope for. So, Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy all that you have. Have that extra treat if desired. Forget about all your troubles, focus on what is important (family & friends), and enjoy your dinner!
